Nikki Haley, who was the runner-up to Donald Trump in the Republican presidential nomination, has cautioned the GOP that the Democrats will replace Joe Biden with someone younger and more relatable after his disastrous performance in the first presidential debate. Haley, who served as the U.N. ambassador in the Trump administration and was the former governor of South Carolina, stated in an interview with The Wall Street Journal that the Democrats would be wise about it and bring in someone younger, vibrant, and tested. She further added, “Republicans need to be prepared for what’s coming because there’s no chance of the Democratic Party surviving if they allow Joe Biden to be their candidate.” Haley, who is 52 years old, emphasized her comparatively young age throughout her campaign when she tried to take the nomination from Trump. The Journal highlighted her repeated calls for mandatory mental competency tests for politicians over the age of 75, including Trump, who is 78 years old. Haley disclosed that she spoke with Trump about a week ago, their first conversation since she left the nomination race in March.
