According to police, a man was found dead by a New York City Parks Department worker after they opened a Manhattan playground on Thursday morning.
According to the NYPD, a man in his 40s was discovered unconscious on a bench in Little Flower Playground near Madison and Jefferson streets on the Lower East Side around 6 a.m.
According to the police, the man appeared to be unharmed and drenched from the heavy rain that occurred overnight. It has been reported that the man was not homeless.
The medical examiner will investigate and determine the cause of death, as the victim was declared deceased at the scene.
