Authorities have announced that a fifth individual has been apprehended on Wednesday in connection with the tragic murder of two mothers in Oklahoma.
Four individuals have already been arrested and charged with murder in relation to the killings of the women. The names of the arrested individuals are Tad Bert Cullum, aged 43, Tifany Machel Adams, aged 54, Cole Earl Twombly, aged 50, and Cora Twombly, aged 44. The arrests took place on April 14, as confirmed by the bureau.
Authorities have stated that the five suspects are members of an anti-government group known as “God’s Misfits.” The group frequently gathered at the Twomblys’ residence and other locations. In the past, they had reportedly attempted to harm Butler, as confirmed by a teenage witness who spoke to investigators. The witness also claimed that the group was responsible for the murders, as mentioned in the affidavit.
Last week, a judge entered not guilty pleas for all four suspects and denied them bond.
The courthouse was filled with family members of the deceased who came to confront the alleged killers of Butler and Kelley. Bryson Butler, Veronica Butler’s younger brother, expressed his hope for justice to be served in an interview with CBS affiliate KFDA.
Butler’s aunt expressed her profound disbelief and sorrow, questioning how someone could harbor such intense hatred towards another individual. She struggled to comprehend how someone could hold such animosity towards the mother of their own grandchildren, to the point of wanting to extinguish her life.
