Late in the evening on Wednesday, July 3, a two-story home with limited access to fire hydrants caught fire in the vicinity of Layhill Road and Norbeck Road. As a result, numerous firefighters were dispatched to the scene at approximately 10:30 p.m.
No one was inside the building when the fire broke out.
As per the officials, during the firefighting operation, a section of the second floor collapsed onto the first, rendering the building unsafe. This also made the investigation challenging as the fire rapidly spread to the attic and roof of the property.
The firefighters successfully extinguished the fire just before midnight on Wednesday night, resulting in an estimated $175,000 worth of damage.
There were no reported injuries.
Authorities are still investigating the cause and origin of the fire.
