The Kenner Police Department recently shared security camera footage of two women who allegedly stole from a store and led police on a chase. The pursuit ended with a KPD cruiser crashing into Bayou St. John. The incident is the latest case to be featured on the Wheel of Justice.
Two women were accused of stealing a large amount of merchandise from the Walgreens situated at the intersection of West Esplanade Avenue and Chateau Boulevard. The incident was reported to the Kenner police by a store worker at 10:40 pm on Tuesday night.
According to authorities, as the suspects’ vehicle was heading towards Interstate 10 on Williams Boulevard, it caught the attention of the police. They attempted to stop the car, but unfortunately, it did not comply. This resulted in a police pursuit that spanned from I-10 to the intersection of Esplanade Avenue and Moss Street. The chase came to a halt when a Kenner police officer crashed his SUV into Bayou St. John.
As per the KPD, the suspects managed to escape and fortunately, the officer remained unharmed.
In the latest development, the police have shared two photos of the alleged thieves captured by Walgreens security cameras. As per the reports, the suspects managed to steal two box fans and possibly a purse filled with store merchandise. The authorities are urging the public to come forward if they have any information about the suspects or the incident.
