The Round Rock Police Department in Texas is seeking the assistance of the public in locating a suspect connected to a shooting that occurred during a Juneteenth celebration, resulting in the deaths of two individuals and 14 others sustaining injuries.
Late on Saturday night, a violent altercation between two groups broke out at Old Settlers Park at approximately 11 p.m. local time, according to Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks. Shortly thereafter, an individual produced a firearm and began shooting, resulting in multiple victims being hit by gunfire. Banks provided these details early Sunday.
According to a post on X, the police are currently on the lookout for a suspect who is believed to be of a thin build and stands at approximately 5 feet 7 inches tall. The suspect was reportedly wearing a white hoodie and had short dreadlocks at the time of the incident.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives has also offered a $5,000 reward for any information that could lead to the arrest of the suspect or suspects, according to a statement released by the police on Sunday night.
According to Banks, it is unclear how many shooters were involved in the incident and the two individuals who were pronounced dead at the scene did not seem to have been involved in the main altercation.
According to the Round Rock Police, on Sunday, 14 individuals were transported to hospitals due to gunshot wounds.
Emergency response officials stated earlier that six individuals were taken to hospitals with injuries that could potentially be serious. There is no information available regarding the patients’ conditions as of Sunday night.
According to the Austin-Travis County EMS, several individuals, including four adults and two children, were taken to nearby trauma centers for medical attention.
Over the weekend, a free concert featuring a variety of acts took place as part of the Juneteenth Festival, organized by a local nonprofit and the city government. The festival provided an opportunity for the community to come together and celebrate this important holiday.
According to Banks, the shooting took place in close proximity to the vendor area of the concert stage.
