Princess Beatrice says her mother, Sarah Ferguson, is “clear” after battling two types of cancer in the previous year.
The 35-year-old daughter of Prince Andrew and the Duchess of York gave an update on Monday’s episode of ITV’s “This Morning.”

“She’s doing really well,” Beatrice told hosts Josie Gibson and Craig Doyle. “She had a health scare last year, but everything is clear now. “At 64, she’s thriving.”
Ferguson revealed her diagnosis of “early form of breast cancer” in June 2023, after which she underwent a mastectomy and reconstructive surgery. Then, in January, the queen, who was married to Andrew from 1986 to 1996, disclosed her skin cancer diagnosis.
“She’s been through a lot, but I believe she’s finally coming into her own,” Beatrice said Monday. “We’re just reminding everyone that if a parent or somebody has a health concern, they should obtain the necessary checks as soon as possible. Both my sister and I are quite proud of her for taking the necessary efforts to obtain those checks.”
Doyle admitted that it has been “a tough year” for the British royals “across the board.”
“There’s nothing more important than family,” Beatrice answered.
Ferguson claimed her second cancer diagnosis came as “a shock” in a Jan. 22 Instagram post, “but I’m in good spirits and grateful for the many messages of love and support.”
“I am incredibly thankful to the medical teams that have supported me through both of these experiences with cancer and to the MAYRLIFE Clinic for taking gentle care of me in the past weeks, allowing me time for recuperation,” she said. “I am resting with family at home now, feeling blessed to have their love and support.”
Ferguson also used Instagram to publicly express her condolences to Princess Kate, who revealed her own cancer struggle in March. “All my thoughts and prayers are with the Princess of Wales as she starts her treatment,” Ferguson wrote in a letter. Her family’s love will surround her, and everyone is praying for a positive outcome. “As someone who has recently battled cancer, I admire the way she has spoken publicly about her disease, and I know it will do a tremendous amount of good to promote awareness.”
King Charles III, who has also been battling cancer, resumed public engagements on April 30.
