A father and football coach is desperately appealing for someone to come forward and provide information about the person responsible for his son’s death.
According to Cartarsman Bryant, his son Daryus was departing from Manchester High School’s prom in Columbus on Saturday night when an incident occurred. As they were waiting at a red light, shots were fired.
According to Bryant, he and his family always emphasized the importance of wearing seatbelts and not speeding when discussing road safety. However, they never imagined that they would have to warn each other about the potential presence of armed individuals.
The Columbus Police Department reported that the shooting occurred at approximately 11:50 pm in the vicinity of Macon Road and Lake Shore Road.
The paramedics quickly transported them to Piedmont Hospital in Columbus, where doctors swiftly took Favors into surgery. According to the police, Bryant was pronounced dead by an emergency department doctor.
Bryant mentioned that when the incident occurred, there were around 30 or 40 students waiting outside the hospital, accompanied by their parents. It was remarkable to see the strong bond and unity within this close-knit community, especially considering that it was in the early hours of the morning.
Bryant, a talented athlete, was a junior at Manchester High School. If fate had allowed, he would have celebrated his 17th birthday the coming Saturday, April 27. He had already made a name for himself as a pre-season all-state football and basketball player, and he was also the reigning high jump track champion.
According to his father, he had received three or four college offers to pursue a football career and had a promising future awaiting him.
