According to a recent report by NBC, Sean “Diddy” Combs is currently being investigated by federal authorities in the southern district of New York. The investigation is still ongoing, and investigators are presenting their findings to a federal grand jury. However, as of now, no charges have been filed against him.
It is currently unclear what exactly the investigation is regarding, however, NBC reports that Combs is not being targeted at this time. Instead, he is considered a subject within the scope of the investigation in some manner.
It’s unclear if this particular case is connected to the previous report in May, which stated that federal investigators were planning to present several women who had accused Combs of misconduct to a federal grand jury.
As accusations of sexual assault and misconduct continue to plague rap mogul Diddy, a recent report sheds light on the ongoing legal battles he faces. Last November, Diddy’s longtime girlfriend Cassie made a federal civil lawsuit alleging repeated physical and sexual abuse. Although Diddy denied the accusations, he settled the lawsuit the very next day. Shortly after, two other women came forward and filed lawsuits against him, claiming rape and abuse dating back decades.
Back in May, a leaked hotel surveillance video from 2016 revealed the brutal assault of Cassie by Combs.
In June, Combs made headlines when he sold his majority stake in Revolt, a media company focused on hip hop and youth culture. This move came after he had already stepped down as Chairman in November, following a lawsuit filed against him by Cassie. While the company did not mention the previous month’s footage as a reason for the sale, Howard University took swift action by rescinding the honorary doctorate it had awarded Combs in 2014, citing the controversial video.
