Independent presidential candidate, Robert F. Kennedy Jr., made an announcement on Monday that he will officially be appearing on the Texas ballot. This comes after he successfully submitted a total of 245,572 signatures to the Texas Secretary of State office.
According to their campaign, this exceeds the minimum requirement for access to the Lone Star State presidential ballot by more than double. The Texas Secretary of State’s Office has confirmed the receipt of the petition, although the exact number of listed signatures has not been confirmed.
The inclusion of Kennedy on the Texas ballot would be a historic moment, as it has been over two decades since an independent presidential candidate, like Pat Buchanan in 2000, has secured a spot.
According to a written statement by Texas State Director Kim Limberg, Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s strength, character, and selfless dedication to defend and protect our democracy is seen as a beacon of hope for all Americans. The sentiment is echoed by volunteers in the Lone Star State, who firmly believe that RFK Jr. is the ideal person to lead the country.
According to RFK Jr’s campaign, the Kennedy-Shanahan ticket has successfully obtained ballot access in six states: Utah, Michigan, California, Delaware, Oklahoma, and Texas.
In addition, the campaign claims to have collected sufficient signatures for ballot access in eight more states: New Hampshire, Nevada, Hawaii, North Carolina, Idaho, Nebraska, Iowa, and Ohio.
The Kennedy-Shanahan ticket has successfully gathered enough signatures to secure ballot access in 14 states. This impressive feat represents 187 electoral votes, which accounts for 35% of the nation’s total electoral votes.
