Rudy Giuliani, the former mayor of New York City, voiced his dissatisfaction with the way he was served the indictment related to the fake electors case in Arizona. Giuliani expressed his disappointment, claiming that the process lacked style.
Rudy Giuliani, along with 16 other defendants, faced charges for his involvement in trying to overturn the outcome of the 2020 election.
During a festive gathering in Palm Beach, Florida to celebrate his 80th birthday, a Republican fundraiser named Caroline Wren presented the Trump ally with a document outlining the charges against him.
In his remarks on Sunday, he voiced his dissatisfaction with the way the indictment was presented, while he was accompanied by his girlfriend, Maria Ryan.
Rudy Giuliani recalled an incident where an unidentified man approached him discreetly, slipping a crumpled piece of paper into his hands. According to Giuliani, the paper was not neatly folded or presented in a stylish manner.
“And he handed me the document, saying, ‘This is from Arizona attorney general Kris Mayes.’ However, I still haven’t received the indictment,” he explained.
Giuliani faced indictment papers for his mocking remarks towards Mayes on social media.
In a now-deleted post on X, Giuliani boasted about successfully evading Mayes. The former attorney to Trump confidently asserted that any charges against him would be dismissed if officials couldn’t serve him in time.
The indictment was served just a few hours later. Mayes took to Twitter on May 17th to share the news, stating, “The final defendant was served just moments ago. Nobody, not even Rudy Giuliani, is above the law.”
Mayes also provided a screenshot of Giuliani’s deleted post.
According to a statement reported by Politico, Ted Goodman, a spokesperson for Giuliani, mentioned that the former New York City mayor remained unfazed by the disruption caused by the indictment at his party.
According to Wren’s statement to Politico, she described the birthday celebration as a “fantastic evening honoring an American hero.”
