During a congressional meeting, it’s a rare sight to see someone on the House floor. However, a little boy got the chance to be there and he made sure to leave a lasting impression. As his father, Tennessee Republican Rep. John Rose, was delivering a speech on Monday, his 6-year-old son, Guy Rose, sat behind him and entertained the audience by making silly faces directly into the camera.
The boy’s comical gestures and facial expressions during his dad’s speech about former President Donald Trump’s guilty verdict were captured by C-SPAN, known for its broadcasts from Congress. As a result, the video of the boy’s antics went viral.
While Rose was delivering his speech, he remained unaware of his son’s mischievous antics in the background. However, Rose later provided an explanation for his son’s silly behavior. According to Rose’s social media post, he had asked his son Guy to smile for the camera in front of his younger brother, which resulted in this playful distraction during his speech.
Guy’s amusing performance has garnered widespread admiration on social media, with many applauding him for having a good time and stealing the spotlight. Aaron Fritschner, the communication’s director for Virginia Democrat Rep. Don Beyer, expressed his regret over being slow to respond to an email, as he was engrossed in watching Guy’s video repeatedly. He shared the video clip of Guy on social media, joining the chorus of appreciation for the joyful moment.
As soon as they stepped into the GOP conference meeting after leaving the House chambers, a round of applause broke out for the tiny comedian.
While spending the week in Washington, D.C., with his dad, Guy, a recent kindergarten graduate, accompanied his father to work with the congressman. During a conversation with reporters on Tuesday, one of them asked Guy if he ever gets tired of being on TV.
Guy responded with his trademark comedic charm, firmly stating “No.”
On Monday, the duo of father and son gave a few TV interviews, during which Guy continued to make his trademark silly faces.
