Police arrested a suspected intruder in the early hours of Sunday morning following a break-in at the residence of Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass.
In a statement on X, the LAPD PIO reported that an individual broke a window to enter the Getty House, which was occupied at the time, around 6:40 AM this morning.
Bass and her family live in the Getty House, located in the Hancock Park neighborhood of Los Angeles.
According to ABC News, Bass was one of the occupants who was present at home when the intruder broke in. However, it was not specified whether she had any interaction with the suspect.
The LAPD stated that there were no injuries to the occupants during the incident. They also mentioned that the suspect was taken into custody without any problems.
Late Sunday night, authorities confirmed that Ephraim Matthew Hunter, 29, was apprehended and charged with felony burglary. He has since been booked and his bail has been set at $100,000.
It remains unclear whether Hunter has legal representation at this time.
The police have stated that the investigation is still ongoing.
After the break-in, Zach Seidl, Deputy Mayor of Communications for Bass, expressed gratitude to the LAPD for their prompt response and the subsequent arrest of the suspect.
