Former President Trump’s fundraising page experienced a crash soon after he was convicted on 34 felony counts by a New York jury. His campaign attributed this issue to a surge in donations.
“The American people are not fooled by Crooked Joe Biden’s manipulated trial,” Trump’s campaign exclaimed on the popular social platform X. “Such was the impact of President Trump’s campaign that it overwhelmed the WinRed pages, causing them to temporarily go offline. We are currently working on restoring the website as swiftly as we can.”
Visitors to Trump’s campaign website were redirected to WinRed, the official GOP fundraising site. However, when attempting to donate to the former president, users were informed that the page was undergoing maintenance. As a result of technical difficulties, the campaign temporarily redirected to a different donation processor.
Chris LaCivita, co-manager of the Trump campaign, encouraged supporters to “try again” if they encountered any error messages while logging on.
Former President X has developed a pattern of leveraging his legal issues to generate campaign funds. When he was indicted in Georgia last year, he even utilized his mug shot to raise millions of dollars in campaign contributions. Given this track record, it is anticipated that his campaign will once again seize upon the public outrage surrounding the recent verdict to bolster their fundraising efforts.
Trump has been convicted of a felony, making him the first former president to be found guilty on all 34 counts of falsifying business records.
The jury consisting of 12 individuals reached a verdict on Thursday evening after deliberating for around 11 hours in the hush money trial.
Trump has denied the affair and pleaded not guilty, and he is expected to appeal the verdict.
