Former President Donald Trump recently responded to former GOP presidential candidate Nikki Haley’s public statement in which she declared her intention to vote for him.
“I really liked what she said,” Trump expressed to Long Island’s News 12 following his rally on Thursday when questioned about her remarks.
Trump then hinted at the possibility of including Haley on his “team,” praising her as a competent individual.
The reporter inquired, “Can she find a place on your team or, even better, join your ticket?”
According to Trump, he believes that she will join their team due to their shared ideas and thoughts.
“We ran a rather aggressive campaign, I must admit. However, she is an incredibly talented individual, and I am confident that she will continue to be a valuable member of our team in one way or another. Without a doubt.”
In a surprising shift from his typical campaign trail rhetoric, he deviated from his customary insults towards Haley, such as calling her “birdbrain” and questioning her intelligence. Throughout the GOP primaries, he directed his attention towards Haley, intensifying his attacks as other candidates withdrew from the race.
During her first public speaking event since leaving the presidential race, Haley expressed her disappointment with Trump but emphasized that she still considers him a stronger candidate than Biden.
Nikki Haley expressed her support for President Trump, acknowledging that he has not been flawless in implementing certain policies. However, she strongly criticized Joe Biden’s performance, describing it as a catastrophe. Haley made these remarks during her speech at the Hudson Institute in Washington, where she stated that she would be voting for Trump.
Earlier this month, Trump took to his social media platform to address the speculation surrounding Nikki Haley as his potential running mate. In a tweet, he dismissed the idea by stating, “Nikki Haley is not under consideration for the V.P. slot, but I wish her well!” This response came in light of a news report suggesting that the Trump campaign was considering Haley as his vice presidential candidate.
In his interview with News 12 on Thursday night, Trump was questioned about his potential choices for vice president. Although he did not disclose his top three picks, he did mention a few names that he is currently considering. These individuals include Ben Carson, Senator Marco Rubio, Senator JD Vance, and Representative Elise Stefanik.
During the convention, Trump mentioned that he would make his final decision at some point.
