Donald Trump told attendees at a private donor gathering in Florida on Saturday that he isn’t concerned about his multiple legal issues.
Speaking about his criminal indictments at a Mar-a-Lago luncheon, the former president stated, “If you care too much, you choke. And, in a way, I don’t care.” It’s just, you know, life is life,” NBC News said, citing audio from the event.
Nevertheless, Trump told those present that he was shocked to hear of his indictment.
“Holy sh*t,” I exclaimed upon receiving the indictment. I was just indicted. . “I was indicted,” Trump remarked, according to the story.
Last month, Trump made his first court appearance in one of his four criminal cases, where he faced charges of manipulating business documents to conceal payments to adult film star Stormy Daniels.
During the Mar-a-Lago dinner, Trump also used the occasion to criticize Democrats, claiming they were “running a Gestapo administration,” referring to the Nazi secret police.
“And it is the only thing they have.” They believe it is the only way they will win.
“Once I got indicted, I said, Well, now the gloves have to come off,” Trump remarked, adding that Biden was “the worst president in the history of our country.” He is quite incompetent. He’s crooked as hell. He’s the Manchurian candidate, and he accepts large sums of money from China, Russia, Ukraine, and many other countries.
The Republican National Committee (RNC) held the luncheon during their spring retreat in the Sunshine State. Hundreds of people attended the event, with several donating $40,000 or more, CNN claimed, citing sources familiar with the fundraising.
NBC News reported that Trump mentioned numerous potential vice presidential candidates onstage, including South Carolina Senator Tim Scott, New York Representative Elise Stefanik, North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum, Ohio Senator JD Vance, Florida Senator Marco Rubio, and Florida Representative Byron Donalds.
According to CNN sources, guests began the retreat with a welcome event, including House Speaker Mike Johnson, RNC cochair Lara Trump, and House GOP Conference Chair Elise Stefanik.
