The WNBA has made the decision to upgrade Chicago Sky guard Chennedy Carter’s foul against Indiana Fever guard Caitlin Clark to a flagrant-1 violation after a thorough review of the play.
During the regular season, players earn points for committing flagrant fouls, and they may face suspensions if they accumulate a specific number of these fouls.
During the postgame interview on Saturday, Indiana coach Christie Sides commended Clark for her exceptional composure in the face of the physical challenges she has encountered throughout the season.
โWe will continue to send these possessions to the league, along with the corresponding plays. Hopefully, they will take a closer look at some of the things we observe or suspect,โ she expressed. โI am glad that Caitlin handled the situation the way she did. It’s challenging to continually face rough contact without receiving free throws or foul calls. Nonetheless, she has persisted in her determination. I am proud of her for that.โ
Clark recorded an impressive stat line with 11 points, eight rebounds, and six assists. Meanwhile, Reese also made a significant contribution with eight points and 13 rebounds.
