When police officers arrived at a residence in Colorado after receiving reports of a woman screaming, they discovered a 24-year-old woman in the midst of giving birth on her front porch.

In the early hours of April 18, at approximately 3:30 am, four officers from the Greeley Police Department promptly responded to a call. Despite the cold and snowy conditions, they immediately sprang into action, fully prepared to assist in delivering what they believed to be a single baby.

The baby boy was born swiftly and unexpectedly took on a bluish hue.

The Greeley Police Department shared on Facebook that one officer used bread ties to secure the umbilical cord, while another quickly gathered towels and blankets from nearby homes to keep the new family warm.

According to the police, it was snowing, raining, and the temperature was around 32 degrees at that moment.

While in the patrol car, the baby suddenly ceased to breathe, prompting an officer to swiftly administer CPR. Fortunately, medical personnel arrived just in time to provide further assistance to the infant.

The officers were taken aback when the new mother informed them that she was actually expecting two more babies.

The police department announced that while the officers were providing comfort to the mother, they also assisted in the delivery of a second baby boy.

The officers swiftly wrapped the baby in a protective covering, skillfully tied off the umbilical cord, and carefully cut it. In the meantime, the second baby was quickly taken to the waiting ambulance, where medical professionals were still providing care for the first baby.

The hospital quickly admitted the mother, who was in urgent need of medical attention, to the same facility as the first two babies. Without wasting any time, the medical team promptly whisked her away to the operating room to deliver the third baby.

The police have reported that all three babies, who are boys, have strong heartbeats and are currently receiving medical care at the neonatal intensive care unit.

The woman went into labor while she was alone at home, according to the police.

She attempted to reach her neighbor’s house after her phone had run out of battery, but unfortunately, she never managed to go beyond the front porch.

Eric Mayeda, the father of the triplets, expressed his gratitude to the Greeley Police Department for safely bringing the “trifecta we were blessed with,” according to The Independent.

According to him, the premature babies have been progressing as expected, considering the fact that they were born 14 weeks early.

A GoFundMe campaign has been set up to provide financial support to the family for their expenses.

Greeley Police Chief Adam Turk expressed his astonishment at the exceptional teamwork, resourcefulness, and compassion displayed by the officers when they were confronted with a challenging task.

“The success of this call reflects the dedication and expertise of our officers, the effectiveness of our training programs, and the strength of our partnerships with other public safety agencies in the area.”
