According to Jeffrey Lebron, a spokesman for the New Jersey State Police, a Nissan passenger vehicle hit Baranowski’s bicycle and then crashed into a utility pole, causing it to overturn. The incident occurred around 2:50 p.m. on Saturday, June 29, while Baranowski was on the right shoulder of Route 206 north in Sandyston Township.
According to Lebron, the driver of the Nissan, a 21-year-old woman from Bronx, sustained serious injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital, while Baranowski, a resident of Milford, PA, passed away.
As per the obituary posted on the Stroyan Funeral Home website, Baranowski had recently completed his economics degree from New York University. He was an active member of the swim team during his time at the university. His obituary mentioned that he was fond of various outdoor activities such as hiking, climbing, swimming, camping, and golfing, which he enjoyed during his leisure time.
According to his obituary, his parents Marek and Marzena, his sister Karolina, and a host of friends and family members are among those who survive him.
The Saint Vincent De Paul Church in Milford will hold a funeral on Wednesday, July 3rd at 11 a.m.
