Last week, a supermarket in South Carolina had to be cordoned off with yellow caution tape as an alligator was discovered hiding beneath a corral of shopping carts.
On June 26, Lisa Royal noticed a sly alligator lurking around the Publix in Summerville, prompting her to swiftly whip out her phone and record a video.
“I had to capture the moment because it was so extraordinary,” she expressed to WFLA, a Nexstar company.
In the video, shoppers and workers can be seen gathered around the caution tape, with carts used to block off the immediate area where the alligator was hiding.
In the video, Royal exclaimed, “This is happening right now, y’all! There’s an alligator lurking beneath the shopping carts outside.”
According to Jared Glover, who works as a media relations manager with Publix, the alligator was eventually taken away from the storefront area.
According to Glover, their incredible team promptly reached out to the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources, who effectively relocated their scaly companion to a safer place.
