The woman, who remains unidentified, expressed significant worry for her belongings when she was informed by the police that she needed to vacate the attic-like area within the Family Fare sign in Midland, located 130 miles (209 kilometers) north of Detroit.

Surprisingly, an officer revealed that she had a nickname, indicating that a few individuals were aware of it.

Police responded to a call at the store after contractors, who were working on the roof, traced an extension cord to the secret hideaway. When approached by two officers, the woman inside was requested to open a small door located on the back of the sign.

“Did someone introduce you to this?” one asked.

According to the woman, the spot in Midland was once considered an “old safe spot” that was not widely known. However, she mentions that this is no longer the case.

The woman possessed a coffee maker, computer, bedding, and phone. A different officer expressed admiration for her resourcefulness and questioned how she managed to endure the winter.

“I can handle that. I’ve experienced Alaska,” responded the woman confidently.

Wearing black clothing and sporting ski goggles on her head, the woman stepped forward. She explained that she had a sensitivity to sunlight.

Curiously, she inquired about the officers’ method of accessing the roof.

“We’re not roof ninjas,” one of them said, referring to the ladder.
