Several factors determine the amount each applicant can receive. The standard maximum rebate is $650, but add-ons can increase it to $1,000.
Am I eligible for the rebate?
To qualify for the rebate, you must meet the following criteria:
- Be 65 years or older
- Be a widow or widower aged 50 or above
- Be an individual with disabilities aged 18 or older
Additionally, applicants’ annual income must be below $45,000. This year, more Pennsylvanians are eligible for the Property/Rent Tax Rebate Program.
The expansion results from decisions by the General Assembly and the Governor to broaden the program’s reach. Treasurer Garrity emphasized the importance of this expansion, urging all eligible individuals to apply promptly.
“This essential program makes a significant difference for many, including older Pennsylvanians and those living with disabilities,” stated Treasurer Garrity.
The treasury department will start sending rebates to approved applicants beginning July 1. Therefore, eligible individuals need to submit their applications before June 30 to ensure timely processing and payment.
